The “Equilibrium” Anatomical Écorché Bronze Sculpture portrays a poised male physique in an intricate study of balance and biomechanics. Sculpted in the revered classical tradition of the écorché—the flayed form devoid of skin to unveil underlying superficial musculature—this bronze artwork commands attention through its spiral core twist, elevated arm, and flexed leg anchored on a raised pedestal. It captures the exact confluence of scientific inquiry and dynamic figurative sculpture.
This striking composition pays tribute to the Renaissance anatomical studies of Franco-Flemish master Pierre Franqueville (Pietro Francavilla), whose academy casts taught generations of artists to understand human motion, skeletal leverage, and muscular harmony. Cast in genuine, heavy bronze using the traditional lost-wax method, this sculpture displays an authentic hand-rubbed patina and substantial weight. It serves as an intellectual centerpiece for executive credenzas, medical clinic offices, private libraries, or fine art studios.
