The Écorché Anatomical Bronze Sculpture presents a striking male figure captured in a moment of dramatic physical tension. With his head thrown back toward the sky, one hand drawn upward toward the throat, and the torso arched in torsion, this fine art bronze radiates raw sculptural power. Rendered in the classical tradition of the écorché—the artistic study of the flayed human body revealing superficial muscle architecture—it bridges the worlds of medical science, Renaissance academic draughtsmanship, and classical figurative sculpture.
The figure’s dramatic poise evokes the master anatomical treatises of Franco-Flemish sculptor Pierre Franqueville (Pietro Francavilla), celebrated for uniting rigorous biomechanical precision with expressive Mannerist emotionalism. Cast in genuine, heavy bronze using the lost-wax method, this piece carries substantial weight, durability, and a deep, hand-finished patina. It commands immediate presence when displayed on a desk, credenza, or plinth in an executive office, private medical practice, home library, or artist’s atelier.
