Generally Mephistopheles, Mephisto is a fallen angel. His name comes from the Hebrew words: mephir – destroyer, tofel – liar or mephistoph – destroyer of good. He first appears in the drama “Faust” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1833 and in Zygmunt Krasiński’s “Nie divine Comedy” from 1835. He also often appeared in the works of Eugène Delacroix and other artists. Today, this character was shown in the movie Ghost Rider or in Marvel comics.

This sculpture is entirely hand made, using the lost wax method. Despite the great attention with which our bronze sculptures are made, it is possible that this figure may slightly differ from other such sculptures shown on the pictures.
