The forging and folding process alone requires up to a full week, followed by another two weeks dedicated to meticulous hand-sharpening using Japanese water stones of varying grits. As a result, the blade delivers unmatched sharpness—effortlessly handling bamboo tatami mats, light timber, fruit, or plastic bottles during test-cutting practice (tameshigiri).
